11/5/18 The Necedah School has a sewing & serging demonstration scheduled for Wednesday, November 7th from 6-8pm. This event is free to Necedah residents and $5 for non residents. Go to the Necedah School Districts web site to find out more about this and other Adult Outreach events, as well as find out more about their Senior Citizen lunch, like the one schedule for Tuesday November 13th.
The Necedah Chamber of Commerce is excited to say we now have eleven stops to get a beer or wine sample and food on our first ever Wind and Beer Walk. The Wine and Beer walk starts at the Necedah Area Chamber of Commerce office, which is located in the Bank of Mauston in Necedah. Then stop at Whole Life Chiropractic, Necedah True Value, Murphy's Magic Mirror, Affordable Treasures, Red Hen Antiques, American Bank, Yellow River Cabin & Vintage Decor, and JB Deli. You will also be able to stop at the lower level of JB Deli to visit Buckhorn Grill and Buckhorn Store, and at the JB Deli parking lot you can get your wine sample for Camp-Inn Travel Trailer. Tickets are on sale at most of these locations for only $20 each.
10/29/18 Trick or Treating in Necedah will be Wednesday for 4-6pm Saturday morning, November 3rd, the Necedah Elementary PATT team is hosting an Art Breakfast from 9-11 at the Necedah Area School. You can create a project for $5, and order a product with that picture printed on it. The event is open to all ages. Anyone can make a project, or you could make a family project and order a special Christmas present. Donuts, muffins, juice, milk, and coffee will be for sale at the event.
Saturday afternoon the Necedah Fire Department will be at the Necedah Veterans Hall from 1-3 to draw the winners of the 20 guns for their 20 gun raffle fundraiser. There will be door prizes and fun. Haven't gotten your raffle tickets yet? See a Necedah Volunteer firefighter, or stop in to the event on Saturday.
Tickets for Necedahs first Wine & Beer walk are on sale now! We are so excited to bring this event to Necedah. Only 100 tickets are available. You can buy tickets at any of the 10 businesses participating in the Walk and at the Necedah branch of Bank of Mauston. Check our the event on Facebook and share it with your friends.
6/11/18 The Necedah Library's Community Room will be filled with fine art from June 18th-22nd! Monday, June 18th is their Open House with food and door prizes. The library will be open until 7:00 that day. Come out and support our local artists. Art will be for sale. The 6th Annual Discover Necedah Days is coming up June 22nd and 23rd. There will be something for everyone. Friday, June 22nd from 8-4 and Saturday 8-1 you can pick up a free garage sale map at the Village Hall where you will also find Kettle Korn, a plant sale, Paparazzi jewelry, LC Wreaths, The Sewing Sisters, and Homsepun Memories by Doris, and fudge. They will also be cooking up burgers and Necedah Dogs. You don't want to miss out on a Necedah Dog! Saturday the 23rd is the Fishing Extravaganza at Old Mill Park in Downtown Necedah. Registration begins at 9 am, and the fishing contest and games ends at 1pm. The Necedah Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Discover Necedah Area Scavenger hunt. You will be able to pick up information about the hunt at participating location, the Village Hall, and at our Garage Sale!
5/20/18 We are excited to announce the official winner of the very first Necedah Area Chamber of Commerce Logo Contest! The winner is Joshua Glavin from Necedah. Thank you to the Bank of Mauston in Necedah for donating the prize for this contest. Great job Joshua Glavin!
There is only one week left to get your garage sale listed on the Discover Necedah Days map. If you will be holding a rummage sale the last weekend in June and want to be included on the map of rummage sales, contact Diana with Beta Sigma Phi at 565-2895 . These maps will be given away at the Town Hall, and posted on the Discover Necedah Facebook page. There is also add space available for businesses on the map. Entries are due May 25th.

4/30/18 We are excited to see the logo designs already rolling in for the Necedah Chamber Of Commerce's Logo Design Contest. The contest is open to all ages. At 2 pm guest will hear Jared Piersons's powerful message, vision, and plan for the Destiny Center, a program & establishment that is committed to empowering & education women who are in dire need of both. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Destiny Center Saturday May 12, visit the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge for World Migratory Bird Day. Grab your camera and a good pair of shoes, make tracks to the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge visitor center on Sunday April 14th at for their Photography Workshop.Plan to be outside for at least 45 minutes, bug spray and comfortable clothing is encouraged. This week is National Library week. The Necedah Siegler Memorial Library is a busy place! Here are a few of the activities going on at our library; The first Tuesday of each month is a Kid's knit and crochet class at 3:30 Every Tuesday for 1-3 pm is the adult knitting class, Knit One, Read Too. Story time for kids under the age of 4 is every Tuesday at 1pm The Second Wednesday of each moth the Community room is open from 1-3 for adults to work on their creative hobbies. Bring your crafting, scrap booking, adult coloring, or other creative outlet supplies and enjoy this time to work on your project, share ideas, and find inspiration. The fourth Thursday of every month you can enjoy a Vegetarian & Vegan Potluck at 1pm in the Library Community room. Bring a dish and recipe to share. The next No Meat Eats potluck is Thursday April 26th at 1pm. Each Tuesday and Thursday at the library is a 5am fitness class. Each class is 45 min with strength, cardio, and dynamic balance! The class is for all age and fitness levels! There is no charge, but donation are accepted! This Thursday, April 12th Kimberly Rushman, Poet and Author will be at the Necedah Library from 1-5 pm. She will have copies of her new book Father's Home, a collection of poetry centered around family Also this Thursday is Dixie’s next art class at 1:0. This class, creating a landscape with pastels, is recommended for ages 10 & up. Supplies will be provided, but if you have your own pastels, bring them along! 3/19/18 Necedah Area Chamber of commerce meeting is this week on Wednesday, March 21 at 6pm at the town hall. This Friday you can watch Donkey Basketball and support the Booster Club. The game starts at 7pm. Tickets are $10 at the the door. The important Referendum vote is Tuesday April 3rd. Necedah Elementary Spring carnival is April 5th - It is a great time for kids and the PATT team holds a great silent auction to raise money for field trips, class room snacks, and more. Saturday April 7th there is Chess Tournament that will be held at the Necedah area school. The Change War is officially on! Thank you to The Little Crane Cafe for organizing this great completion that involved 20 local Necedah Businesses all vying for the trophy while raising money for our food pantry. Get an endless bowl of chili for $5, a take out bowl for $3, or kids bowl for $2.50.
Keep an eye out for the Necedah Change war going on in town. The Little Crane Cafe has organized this fun fundraiser to support the Necedah Food Pantry who has lost an important part of its usual funding this year. Many of our local businesses have joined the Change War and are collecting your change. The business or group with the heaviest donation will win an amazing trophy. If your group or business would like to join in the the fun, there is still time. The fundraiser ends February 19th.
From February 1 - 28 Little Crane Cafe and Natures Heat will also be collecting non perishable food items, cleaning supplies, and personal care products for the food pantry. Sunday October 29th is Truck or Treating at the Necedah School parking lot. The entry fee is a non perishable food item or cash donation for the food pantry. Thank you Beta Sigma Phi for putting on this fun event. November 3rd is a chess tournament for all ages at the Necedah School. You can find an entry form on the Chambers website. November 3rd is also the day the Necedah Fire Department will draw the winners of their 10 gun raffle at their fund raising event at the Vets hall from 3 to 5pm.

September 11, 2017 Every Tuesday night from 5:30 to 7pm the Art Group meets at the Community room at the Necedah Library and they would love to see you there. Bring your own art supplies. A live model will sit for you every Tuesday so that you can practice drawing people. The cost is $10 per night, High School and College Students are free. They also have a facebook group where they post their work and give each other advice / critiques. Necedah Lions Club is having Chicken in the Park and BBQ cook off coming up Saturday, September 16 from 3-7pm at Lions Park (this is a correction from Monday) The Necedah Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a presentation by Wendy Babckock, a Certified Complaint Trainer on Wednesday September 20th at 6pm at the Necedah Town Hall. July 31, 2017 The 18th Annual Waterfest is this weekend with a Venetian Lights Boat Parade and celebration at Castle Rock County Park Saturday August 5th with the fireworks finale around 10pm. Join us at the Necedah Area Chamber of Commerce Meeting Thursday August 10th at 7pm at the Town Hall. We have been talking about ways to showcase the many job opportunities in our area, especially to your young citizens. And ways to get job seekers and employers together. Saturday August 19th is Lyons Chicken In The Park. Come on over to Necedah’s Old Mill Park from 1-7 and support the Lyons Club. Start planning ahead for a couple of great events at the Historic Pleasant Acres in New Lisbon. They are holding a County Festival on October 13th from 6-10 with a Golf Tournament, vendors, and Family friendly Horse Shoes. On October 24th, 25th, and 27th at 1pm Pleasant Acres is hosting an interesting field trip option for onl $5. Visit the Historic property, play games, go for a hay ride, experience a motivational speech by Reverend Jared Pierson, watch a performance by award winning David Landau, and take home a pumpkin. July 17th The Necedah Farmers market is every Saturday from 9 to Noon in the parking lot next to the fire station. They are always looking for more vendors. Do you have anything to sell? Saturday July 22nd is the customer appreciation party - Boat Bash - out on Castle Rock Lake. Sponsored by Castle Rock Marine, Smith 2 Marine, and Docking Solutions. The live band will take the stage atop of Docking Solutions largest barge at noon next to Alcatraz Island. Friday, June 28th The Necedah Music Department will be presenting a play at the Necedah School. The Emperor's New Clothes starts at 6:30 pm.
July 10, 2017 The Necedah Library is holding it’s annual book and plant sale Friday July 14th from 9am to 5 pm and Saturday July 15th from 9am to 1pm. Come out and support the Juneau County Relay for Life at the Necedah School on Friday July 14th from 4pm to midnight. The Lions Club is holding one of its wonderful Chicken in the Park Saturday, July 15th from 1pm to 7pm. Did you know the Necedah Wildlife Refuge trails are open year round from sunrise to sunset? July 3 We are looking forward to a great Independence day week in the Necedah Area. Come visit our downtown and check out unique shops like Little Red Hen Antiques, Huckleberry’s candy bouquets and gifts, Yellow River Cabin Decor, Carter's Store, and, of course Necedah True Value. Stop by JB Delli for unique Polish gifts and a sandwich, Alec’s Bar and Grill for a burger, or the Necedah Veterans hall for a little break. A little drive from downtown you can find Natures Heat and asparagus farm, Lenny’s Lumber, Big River Pawn and Gun, and Petenwell Industries - the makers of Camp-in-Trailers, Canvas Quilts and More, and the Buckhorn Cafe is now re-opened as the Buckhorn Grill & Bar. If you are looking to just just relax and enjoy nature, visit one of our area parks. Buckhorn State Park has trails, beaches, camping, fishing, and kayak rentals. The Necedah National Wildlife Refuge has trails, fishing, bird watching tower, and a great interactive learning center. I am sure you will find plenty to do in Necedah, come take a look around! You can also enjoy a pig roast at JB Deli in Downtown Necedah Or a $5.00 Burger Baskets at Alec’s Bar and Grill every Saturday And Saturday July 15th is the first Chicken in the Park at Old Mill Park from 1pm - 7pm Wednesday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m. - The Necedah Music Department proudly presents the Summer School Musical “The Emperor's New Clothes!” The performance is free and open to the public, with bake sale to follow. Come enjoy an evening of music and fun!
June 19th's Minute: Everyone is excited about Discover Necedah days this Friday and Saturday June 23rd and 24th The city wide sales start Friday - get your free map at Necedah Village Hall from 8am - 4pm on Friday and 8am - 1pm on Saturday then watch for red, White, & blue ribbons at over 50 participating sales and businesses. Friday and Saturday at the Village hall you will also find: Free coffee, a multi-family sale, fresh baked goods, homemade fudge, garden art, Jamberry nails, sewing sisters, and burgers and Necedah dogs. Saturday is the fishing extravaganza at old mill park - registration for the fishing contest begins at 6:30, the contest ends at 12:30. There will be cash prices, and you can make your own lures, jigs, spinners and poppers.
June 12’s minute: Necedah’s Community wide garage sale is Friday & Saturday June 23rd and 24th with a lot of events all around town: The garage sales are Friday from 8-4 and Saturday from 8-1 The Necedah Area Chamber will be face painting at our office located at the Bank of Mauston in Necedah. It would be a great time to stop by and check out the new office. At the Necedah town hall there will be a mulit-family sale, yard art, plants, and homemade fudge. There will also be burgers and Necedah Dogs getting grilled up. Saturday at Old Mill Park, the annual Fishing Extravaganza is being held with contests, games, and lure making.
